James E. Taylor collection, 1926-1978.

The James E. Taylor collection contains clippings, photographs, correspondence, awards, daily planner books documenting his tenure as Wallace County, Kan., attorney; city attorney of Sharon Springs; secretary & treasurer of Republican Club of Wallace County; and member of the Kansas Judicial Council. The bulk of the collection is comprised of disbound scrapbooks containing clippings documenting Taylor's community services, public appearances, cases, personal achievements, and various law topics. The correspondence includes discussion regarding his appointment & reappointment to the Judicial Council, his Selective Service duty, and his Bar Association Distinguished Service Award. Other letters and clippings concern Taylor's personal life, such as his wedding to Opal Lily Hearn. Also included are daily planners listing appointments and related income.
